Attendance: Dedra, Halie, Alex (AB: Amanda, Julian - notes left w/Mr. T for next week prep
What we did
Review proper posture and hand position
Review reading and performing line 1, 2 and 4 in the
Standard of Excellence
Concert D, C, Bb
Perform Benchmark line
Play line 7 with acceptable tone quality, correct rhythm and in good time. (Learning Targets Met)
Played line 8 to establish 8 counts of constant sound
Used a "too" or "doo" tonguing to separate into two 4-count notes (whole notes)
Applied this concept as half note rhythms.
Played through line 11
What to do:
Work to achieve performance targets on line 11
Great tone
Establish good time
Play correct notes
Play the rhythm written
Establish an acceptable "legato" tonguing style
Looking Forward
Counting and playing half notes and half rests on page 7: lines 11-14
Benchmark lines are 12 and 14
Counting and playing quarter notes and rest on page 8: 15-17
Must establish a good legato articulation; no breath between notes; all articulation is whole note based
All students should be able to meet performing targets on line 7 by Nov. 10
